ALWA Welcomes Matthew Kernan to the team
ALWA welcomes Matthew Kernan to the team. We're delighted to have him on board!
Matthew is a registered Architect in the UK with ARB. Having completed his Part I studies in Queen's University Belfast, he moved to London in 2013 to practice with Foster + Partners for 2 years working on a range of projects of various scales between Asia, Europe & North America.
Upon returning to Queen's to complete his Part II, Matthew graduated with Distinction in 2017 and was awarded the highest post-graduate student award in Ireland, the RIAI Excellence Award as well as winning the international RIBAJ Eyeline competition for his thesis drawings and invited to publish his work in UC Berkeley's bi-annual architecture publication.
As a Part II, Matthew has gained further professional experience in Clancy Moore Architects, Dublin & Hall McKnight, Belfast. During this period, he has been invited to Architecture schools in Belfast and London to give talks on his representation & presentation techniques. In 2019, as part of a trio in a team, Matthew won the RSUA open design competition for 'Early Career Architects' focused on City & Play, with their project titled 'SoundYard' that has recently been completed on Belfast historic Titanic Quarter along the Maritime Mile.
